What will you be doing?
You will be working in a small team of banking administrators, supporting StarVale’s teams by carrying out cheque and cash banking for the lottery. You will prepare weekly client proceeds and assist to take them to the banks in Lancaster city centre, handle both incoming and outgoing lottery mail, and complete accurate data entry. You will also process debit and credit card payments, reconcile those payments, batch membership and subscription documents, and organise the despatch of standing order mandates to the appropriate financial institutions. This role requires some hand-writing - it is important that your writing is legible.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like
Checking and preparing the proceeds for each client so they are ready to be deposited at the bank each week.
Delivering cheques and cash to the local bank branches on a weekly schedule (usually, Thursday morning).
Sorting all inbound company mail and ensuring it reaches the correct teams.
Batching documents such as new member forms and lottery renewal subscriptions.
Completing computer data entry, verification, and reporting to maintain accurate records.
Processing debit and credit card payments, followed by verification and reporting.
Delivering or despatching standing order mandates to the appropriate banks and building societies.
Reconciling payments and producing the associated reports.
Preparing and despatching outbound mail for the company and the lottery office.
What You’ll Be Able to Bring to the Role
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to spot errors or discrepancies.
Clear legible handwriting.
Strong numerical skills.
Excellent time-keeping to deliver to deadlines.
Demonstrate great communication & teamwork skills.
Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
Access to own vehicle and a valid UK driver’s license.
Experience within administrative positions that required banking, invoicing, cash handling.
Salary Banding: £24,784.50 (based on 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday).
